Frequently Asked Questions
How does it work?
Little Bid Tasty is a reverse auction website offering Lowest Unique Bid auctions.
What is a Lowest Unique Bid auction?
The winner in a Lowest Unique Bid auction is the person who has placed the lowest bid which no other participant has placed. This means that you can acquire products at very low prices.
How do I participate?
In order to participate in an auction, you place one or more bids on an item while the auction is running.
How do I place the lowest unique bid?
Little Bid Tasty automatically monitors all of the bids that are placed on each item. When you place a bid, you will receive a message telling you if your bid is a unique bid and, if so, whether it is the lowest of the unique bids that have been placed so far. You can use skill to determine what the lowest unique bid is made by all participants so far and to place your own lowest unique bid.
When do the auctions start and when do they finish?
New auctions are listed on Little Bid Tasty on a regular basis. Auctions either close at specific times/dates or after a certain number of bids have been placed. Full details of both types are listed on the website.
What happens if my bid is the lowest unique bid at the end of the auction?
If you have placed the lowest unique bid when the auction ends, you will be the winner of the auction. As the winner, you can purchase the item for the amount of your winning bid. In order to do this, please press the Pay Now button that is included in the email you will receive as the winning bidder or visit the My Closed Auctions page.
I won an auction. When will I receive my item?
We aim to deliver items within 30 days of payment being received. Items being shipped outside the UK may take longer.
What happens if there are no unique bids?
If there are no unique bids when an auction ends, the winner of the auction will be the person who first placed the lowest bid placed by the fewest number of bidders. For instance, if the following bids had been made when an auction ends:
£0.01 – 3 bids
£0.02 – 2 bids
£0.03 – 3 bids
£0.04 – 5 bids
£0.05 – 2 bids
The winner would be the person who bid £0.02 first out of the two people that placed a £0.02 bid.
Are the items new?
Yes. All items offered by auction on Little Bid Tasty are brand new. We order items direct from reputable online stores such as Amazon, and each item comes with the usual manufacturer’s warranty.
Can I withdraw a bid?
A bid that has been submitted cannot be withdrawn unless an auction is cancelled.
Can I place more than one bid on each auction?
Yes, there is no limit to how many bids you can place on an auction. You can even place multiple bids – a multiple bid is an easy way of placing bids on every amount within a specific range (for instance you could place a multiple bid on 1 pence to 5 pence, and this would be 5 bids in total).
How much does it cost to place a bid?
Each bid placed uses credits. The number of credits varies, and is clearly shown for each auction.
How can I obtain credits?
You can buy credits through the buy credits menu option of your account.
You can receive free bonus credits on Little Bid Tasty through promotions. For example, on your first deposit Little Bid Tasty will double the amount of credits up to a maximum of £50.
You can also receive free credits by referring friends to Little Bid Tasty. You will receive 500 credits for each friend you refer!
What payment methods can I use?
PayPal is currently the only permitted method of payment. If you do not have a PayPal account, you can still purchase credits through PayPal by clicking continue under the heading ‘Don’t have a PayPal account?’
Are there any delivery charges?
Little Bid Tasty will cover the cost of all shipping costs within the UK. Additional shipping charges may apply for items shipped outside the UK, and such charges will be notified to the winning bidder once they are known.
I have forgotten my password. What should I do?
Please click the ‘Forgot your password?’ button in the login box. You can then enter your email address, and your password will automatically be sent to you by email.
Why is there a short delay in announcing the winner of the auctions?
The delay is to ensure all bids are included before we calculate the winner.
What are the auctions with the red stars?
Sometimes we run auctions with special conditions such as bidders must not have won an auction in the past. Further details are shown in the auction description.
I am not from the UK. Can I participate?
Yes, Little Bid Tasty is open worldwide. There may be some occasions where it is not possible for us to ship an auction item overseas – where this happens, you will be offered a cash alternative based on 80% of the guide price.
